1. About MetaVault
MetaVault is a free community hobby project operated by private individuals in Switzerland. It provides tools for collecting, exploring and practising geographic clues used by GeoGuessr players. These terms apply when you access or use the platform.
2. Accounts and access
Sign-in is provided through Discord. You are responsible for your Discord account and for activity performed through it. MetaVault is under active development; features, availability and access rules may change, and access may be restricted or withdrawn where necessary to protect the project, its users or its data.
3. Community suggestions
Signed-in users may submit suggestions for new metas or changes to existing content. Suggestions are reviewed before publication. The operators may approve, edit, combine, postpone or reject a suggestion and are not required to publish it.
You remain responsible for what you submit. Only submit text, images, source links and other material that you created, are permitted to use, or may lawfully reference. Do not submit unlawful, misleading, abusive or rights-infringing material.
By submitting material, you give MetaVault a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free permission to store, review, edit and publish it as part of the platform. This permission does not transfer ownership and does not apply to third-party material beyond the rights you are legally able to grant.
Images must be your own work, generated with a tool that permits your intended use, or covered by a licence or permission that allows MetaVault to store and publish them. Non-Street-View Google Maps screenshots may be submitted only when the applicable Google terms, copyright exception or separate permission covers that specific use, and required attribution must be included. Do not upload third-party imagery merely because it is publicly viewable. MetaVault does not verify those rights. Street View screenshots and extracted Street View frames are not accepted under any circumstances. Street View may be available separately as an optional embedded frame; an iframe does not grant permission to download or republish the underlying imagery.
4. Accuracy and availability
MetaVault content is community- and editor-curated and may contain mistakes, omissions or outdated information. Reliability labels are editorial assessments, not guarantees. The platform is provided as available, without a promise that every feature or item of content will always be accurate, complete or continuously accessible.
5. Acceptable use
Do not misuse the platform, attempt to bypass access controls, interfere with its operation, upload malicious material, scrape it in a way that disrupts the service, or use it to violate another person's rights. We may remove content or restrict access where reasonably necessary.
6. Voluntary contributions
Voluntary contributions may support MetaVault and its creators. Contributions are optional and do not provide additional access or benefits. Any contribution is handled by the external payment platform linked at the time of payment and is subject to that platform's own terms and privacy policy.
7. Third-party services
MetaVault links to and uses external services. Their content, availability and data practices are controlled by their respective providers. Optional Google content is loaded only according to your privacy settings. More information is available in the privacy notice.
8. Changes and contact
These terms may be updated as MetaVault develops. Material changes will be reflected on this page. Questions can be sent to the contact address listed in the privacy notice.
